Kinja'd!!!

9 months and more money that I’d like to admit later, I finally took my 1965 Chevrolet K10 for its first drive in more than 20 years. First stop was NAPA to pick up some heater hose. I still have a lot to do (like replace the transfer case shift rod clevis pins, since I forgot to cotter pin them in when I had it apart last year) but this was a big relief. It runs, turns... sort of and stops... sort of. My concern about the engine smoking were unfounded. I’m very happy.

Nice.

I’ve been wanting to get a project truck of a similar or older vintage. It some respects, it doesn’t scare me because it won’t be my daily driver so I’m not afraid of breaking it. In other respects, it scares me because I have seen way to many “project” vehicles for sale on Kijiji/Craigslist that people haven’t finished, and it makes me worried I would want to quit half way through.

I need to do the same. My 57 has been sitting since 1993, and it’s getting slightly more rusty every day.
